Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) Rapid Test
INTENDED USE
hCG Rapid Test is a rapid visual immunoassay for the qualitative, presumptive detection of human chorionic gonadotropin in human urine specimens. This kit is intended for use as an aid in the early detection of pregnancy.
PRINCIPLE
Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), a glycoprotein hormone secreted by viable placental tissue during pregnancy, is excreted in urine approximately 20 days after the last menstrual period. hCG levels rise rapidly, reaching peak levels after 60-80 days. The appearance of hCG in urine soon after conception and its rapid rise in concentration makes it an ideal marker for the early detection and confirmation of pregnancy. However, elevated hCG levels are frequently associated with trophoblastic and non-trophoblastic neoplasms and hence these conditions should be considered before a diagnosis of pregnancy can be made. The hCG Rapid Test detects human chorionic gonadotropin through visual interpretation of color development on the strip. Anti-hCG antibodies are immobilized on the test region of the membrane and anti-mouse antibodies on the control region. During testing, the specimen reacts with anti-hCG antibodies conjugated to colored particles and precoated onto the sample pad of the strip. The mixture then migrates through the membrane by capillary action and interacts with reagents on the membrane. If there is sufficient hCG in the specimen, a colored band will form at the test region of the membrane. The presence of this colored band indicates a positive result, while its absence indicates a negative result. The appearance of a colored band at the control region serves as a procedural control, indicating that the proper volume of specimen has been added and membrane wicking has occurred. This kit Sensitivity is 25mIU/ml HCG.

OPERATION
1. Remove test Strip, Device or Midstream from the sealed pouch.
2.1 Strip: Remove test strip from the sealed pouch. Dip the arrowed end of the test strip into the container with urine sample, take it out in 5 seconds and lay flat.
2.2 Device/Cassette: Remove test device/cassette from the sealed pouch. Lay the device flat, add 2-3 drops of urine specimen by sample dropper into the sample well.
2.3 Midstream/Pen: Remove test midstream from the sealed pouch. Open the midstream cup, dip the sample collection head into urine sample, take it out in 5 to 10 seconds and lay it flat.
3. Read the results within 5 minutes.
FRQ:
1 | Why is hCG important in pregnancy? | Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is a hormone produced by the placenta during pregnancy. It helps thicken a person's uterine lining to support a growing embryo and tells the body to stop menstruation. HCG levels rise after conception and continue to rise until about 10 weeks in pregnancy. |
2 | What does hCG do to males? | In men, hCG acts like luteinizing hormone (LH). LH stimulates Leydig cells in the testicles, which results in the production oftestosterone. LH also stimulates production of sperm within structures in the testicles called seminiferous tubules. |
3 | When is hCG produced? | hCG is a hormone produced by your placenta when you are pregnant. It appears shortly after the embryo attaches to the wall of the uterus. If you are pregnant, this hormone increases very rapidly. If you have a 28 day menstrual cycle, you can detect hCG in your urine 12-15 days after ovulation. |
4 | Is hCG higher with a girl? | Background: Maternal serum HCG (MSHCG) is higher when the fetus is a female than when it is male. This has been demonstrated in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, and recently at 10-14 weeks gestation. |
5 | What happens if hCG is positive? | If a person receives a positive HCG pregnancy result, they should make an appointment as soon as possible with a doctor, nurse, or family planning clinic. They will be able to take a follow-up test to confirm the pregnancy and detect any possible complications. |
6 | What week is hCG positive? | It takes about 2 weeks for your hCG levels to be high enough to be found by a home pregnancy test. A positive home test result is almost certainly correct, but a negative result is less reliable. If you do a pregnancy test on the first day after your missed period, and it's negative, wait about a week. |
7 | How much hCG is normal? | Normal levels of HCG in men and premenopausal women range from 0.02 to 0.8 IU/L. In early pregnancy, HCG levels can double every few days, peaking by about 10 weeks. After that, levels can either hold steady or begin to decline. Normal HCG levels during pregnancy can range from 20,000 to 200,000 IU/L. |
8 | How to confirm pregnancy? | Tests to confirm pregnancy Home test kit – these are available from pharmacies. ... Urine test at the doctor's office – the doctor can test your urine for βhCG. Blood test – a test of the βhCG levels in your blood can be accurate within one week or so of conception. |
9 | Does hCG have side effects? | Headache, restlessness, tiredness, or pain at injection site may occur. If any of these effects last or get worse, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly. Remember that this medication has been prescribed because your doctor has judged that the benefit to you is greater than the risk of side effects. |
10 | What are the benefits of hCG? | Human Chorionic Gonadotropin, HCG injection. HCG injections (human chorionic gonadotropin) are a hormone that can increase a person's chances of pregnancy, helps produce testosteroneand sperm, and treats a condition that affects the testes called cryptorchidism. The brand of HCG varies based on your anatomy. |
11 | How to conceive a baby boy? | Increasing your chance of Conceiving a Boy - Huggies AU Best positions: deep penetrative sex is preferable. This helps to deposit the semen and sperm closest to the woman's cervix so they are given the best opportunity to get to the egg in the fallopian tube. Twelve hours before ovulation is thought to maximise the chances of conceiving with a boy. |
12 | How to check hCG levels at home? | For some home pregnancy tests, you'll hold an indicator stick directly in your urine stream until it's soaked, which should take about 5 seconds. Other kits require that you collect urine in a cup and then dip the indicator stick into the cup to measure the hCG hormone level. |
13 | Does hCG stop your period? | HCG is a hormone produced by your placenta once an embryo implants in the uterus. The purpose of the hormone is to tell your body to continue to produce progesterone, which prevents menstruation from occurring. This protects the endometrial uterine lining and your pregnancy. |
14 | Is hCG safe? | No. The HCG diet isn't safe, and it doesn't lead to long-term weight loss. HCG stands for human chorionic gonadotropin. It's a hormone made in the body during pregnancy. |
15 | Can hCG cause kidney damage? | HCG raises levels of hormones known as androgens, which can lead to water retention (when your body holds onto too much water). This can worsen certain conditions like asthma, kidney problems, heart problems, seizures, and migraines. |
